MONDTAGS DESCRIPTION:

 

"Dance Your Dance" is a journey through our cycle, the moon, and our body. This workshop blends dance with spirituality, creating a space where movement becomes prayer.


MONDTAGS OBJECTIVE:

 

The objective is to reconnect with our roots and find balance through Danza Anahuaca , an ancient form of prayer using the body as a tool. We will explore the connection with the four elements and winds, and learn to use the altar as the center of our practice.



MONDTAGS STRUCTURE:

 

Month 1: Introduction and Fundamentals of Danza Anahuaca.

  • Session 1: Welcome and introduction to the cycle. Introduction to Danza Anahuaca.
  • Session 2: Opening and closing rituals: the importance of the altar and elements.
  • Session 3: Movement techniques and using the body as a tool for prayer.
  • Session 4: Improvisation exercises and exploration of movement.

Month 2: Techniques and Rituals

  • Session 5: Using the drum and other instruments: connecting with rhythm.
  • Session 6: Circle dance: group coordination and harmony.
  • Session 7: Symbolism of the red belt and seeds on the ankles.
  • Session 8: Practice of rituals and creating a sacred space.

Month 3: Choreography and Spirituality

  • Session 9:   Creating choreographic phrases inspired by nature.
  • Session 10: Working on musicality and emotional interpretation.
  • Session 11: Incorporating ritual elements into dance.
  • Session 12: Rehearsing group choreographies.

Month 4: Preparation for the Final Presentation

  • Session 13: Polishing and refining our prayer in movement.
  • Session 14: Teamwork and group coordination.
  • Session 15: General rehearsal and feedback.
  • Session 16: Final presentation and workshop evaluation.

 


METHOLOGY:

 

The workshop combines practical classes with theoretical exercises to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the techniques and styles of Anahuaca Dance. A supportive and collaborative environment is encouraged, where each participant can develop their own style and confidence in movement.

 

WHAT TO BRING:

  • Comfortable clothing, women wear a skirt or a sarong around your hips.
  • Water bottle.
  • Red belt for the waist and forehead if you have one.
  • A rattle and/or drum.
  • Seeds for the ankles if you have. 
  • Willingness to learn and enjoy the process.
  • Fruit or flowers for the altar (optional).

 

PRICE AND REGISTRATION:

 

Exchange: 50.- per class
